Bail Bonds Service in Roanoke, TX

Roanoke sits at the junction of State Highway 114 and US 377 in southern Denton County, and that location is the reason most families searching for a Roanoke bail bondsman end up looking at the wrong jail first. A Way Out Bail Bonds is licensed in Dallas County and Tarrant County, and we help Roanoke families understand exactly what happens after an arrest here. A person arrested by the Roanoke Police Department at 203 Fairway Drive is processed there and then taken to the Denton County Jail at 127 N. Woodrow Lane in Denton. If your family member was instead booked into a Tarrant County or Dallas County facility, we post the felony, misdemeanor, DWI, warrant or traffic bond ourselves under Tarrant County Bail Bond License #218 or Dallas County Bail Bond License #285, with bonds underwritten by United States Fire Insurance Company. If the booking went to Denton County, we confirm which facility is holding the person, walk you through the Denton process step by step, and connect you with the right licensed resource for that county. Our agents bring more than 35 years of North Texas bail bond experience, answer the phone live 24 hours a day, speak Spanish, and work with payment plans and no credit check. Call 817-261-2828 at any hour. Read what North Texas families say about A Way Out Bail Bonds.

About Bail Bonds in Roanoke, TX

Roanoke is a small city with a very large amount of traffic passing through it, and that mismatch drives the arrest pattern. The 2020 census counted 9,665 residents across about 7 square miles, well over half again the population of a decade earlier, and the city has kept growing since. State Highway 114 crosses the city east to west, carrying commuters between DFW Airport, Southlake and Fort Worth’s north side, while US 377 runs north and south through the middle of town. Business 114 through downtown is named Byron Nelson Boulevard for the golfer who lived here.

Roanoke markets itself as the Unique Dining Capital of Texas, and the Oak Street district downtown holds dozens of restaurants in a few walkable blocks. That district, plus the highway interchanges, produces the two kinds of calls we hear most: impaired driving arrests on SH 114 and US 377 late in the evening, and warrant arrests that begin as ordinary traffic stops. Texas Motor Speedway sits a short drive east near the county line and brings race weekend crowds through Roanoke’s roads and hotels, which adds public intoxication and disorderly conduct arrests to the calendar a few times a year.

What is a surety bond?

A surety bond is the type of bail bond a licensed bail bond company posts on a defendant’s behalf. The company, backed by an insurance carrier, files a written guarantee with the county that the defendant will appear at every setting, and the family pays the company a fee instead of the full bail amount. It is the most common route to release in Texas for anyone who cannot pay the entire bail in cash. Our How Bail Bonds Work page explains the alternatives.

Which Jail Will Someone Arrested in Roanoke Be Taken To?

Someone arrested by Roanoke police is processed at the Roanoke Police Department, 203 Fairway Drive, Roanoke, TX 76262, and then transported to the Denton County Jail at 127 N. Woodrow Lane, Denton, TX 76205, because Roanoke does not operate a long-term jail of its own. The police department main line is 817-491-6052 and police records is 817-491-8115. The Denton County Sheriff’s Office main number is 940-349-1600.

Here is the path from arrest to release, based on the Roanoke Police Department page and the Denton County Sheriff’s Office:

  • Arrest and initial processing in Roanoke. Officers complete the arrest paperwork at 203 Fairway Drive, including identification, fingerprints and a warrant check reaching other Texas jurisdictions.
  • Transport to Denton. The arrestee is driven to the Denton County Jail at 127 N. Woodrow Lane, roughly 20 miles northwest. That is where the family should direct inmate questions.
  • Magistration. A magistrate reads the charge and rights, reviews the Public Safety Report Texas law requires, and sets the bail amount and conditions. Texas law requires this within 48 hours of arrest.
  • Bond posted in Denton County. Once an amount exists, a bondsman licensed in Denton County files the surety bond, or the family pays the full cash bail directly to the county.
  • Release processing. The Denton County Jail verifies the bond and processes the release. Timing varies with booking volume, staffing and the hour, and overnight weekend bookings move slower than weekday ones.

If a different agency made the arrest, the destination changes, and this matters more in Roanoke than in most cities because of how many jurisdictions meet nearby:

What we will do is confirm where the person actually is, explain each step of the Denton process so you are not guessing, and point you to a licensed resource for that county.

Class C Charges and Roanoke Municipal Court

Fine-only Class C matters, including traffic citations, parking and city ordinance violations, stay with the Roanoke Municipal Court at 203 Fairway Drive, Roanoke, TX 76262, next to the fire station, phone 817-491-0813. The court is open Monday through Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The Roanoke Municipal Court handles citation payments, court date requests and hardship arrangements online and by phone. A Class C warrant does not send anyone to Denton County, but it can turn a routine traffic stop into a trip to the station, so clearing it first is worth the call.

Bail Bond Services We Offer for Roanoke Families

We handle every charge level for Roanoke families, and where the case was booked determines whether we post the bond or guide you to the county that will. Each service below has a fuller page behind it.

Felony Bail Bonds

Felony charges out of Roanoke are filed in Denton County and heard in the Denton County criminal district courts. If the same charge is booked in Tarrant County, the case goes to the Tim Curry Criminal Justice Center, 401 W. Belknap St., Fort Worth, TX 76196, and we post that bond directly. Felony bonds often involve collateral or a second co-signer, and our Types of Bail Bonds page explains how each type works.

Misdemeanor Bail Bonds

Class A and Class B misdemeanors make up most Roanoke arrests: simple assault, small-quantity possession, theft, criminal mischief and criminal trespass. These move quickly once a magistrate sets the amount, and a misdemeanor bond is usually the fastest kind to process. On a Tarrant County booking we post the bond the same day in most cases.

DWI and DUI Bail Bonds

Impaired driving is the charge Roanoke families ask about most, and the combination of the Oak Street restaurant district and two highways running through town explains why. A first offense DWI in Texas is a Class B misdemeanor, and the magistrate can attach conditions such as an ignition interlock device that begin the day of release. Our DWI and DUI bail bonds page covers what to expect.

Warrant Bail Bonds

Old warrants surface constantly on SH 114 and US 377, where a driver stopped for something minor is run through the statewide system at the roadside. We handle bonds on Tarrant County and Dallas County warrants, including warrants from other counties that appear during booking, and we can often arrange a planned surrender so the person bonds out in the same visit. See our criminal cases page.

Traffic and Class C Bonds

For Roanoke Municipal Court warrants and other fine-only matters, we explain what the court accepts and, where a surety bond is permitted in a Dallas or Tarrant County court, post it. Our traffic ticket bail bonds page has the details.

How the Bail Process Works for a Roanoke Arrest

From your first call to a release, the process follows six steps.

  • Call 817-261-2828. Give us the full name, date of birth, where the arrest happened and the arresting agency if you know it. We answer live at every hour, holidays included.
  • We find the person and the county. We check Denton County and Tarrant County records to confirm which facility is holding your family member. Families often call about a Roanoke arrest that turns out to have been made by a neighboring Tarrant County agency, which changes the next step entirely.
  • We explain the route. If the booking is in Tarrant County or Dallas County, we prepare the bond. If it is in Denton County, we explain that process in plain language and connect you with a licensed resource there, at no cost to you.
  • Co-signer paperwork. On the bonds we write, the co-signer, also called the indemnitor, signs the agreement and provides identification. Most of this is handled by phone, fax or email.
  • Bond posted. For Tarrant County cases our agent files the surety bond at the Tarrant County Corrections Center bond desk, which operates 24 hours a day.
  • Release and court dates. After the jail verifies the bond, release processing begins. We then track every court setting and remind the defendant and the co-signer before each one, because a missed setting is what puts a bond at risk.

Two pieces of Texas law shape all of this. Senate Bill 6, the Damon Allen Act, effective December 2021, requires a magistrate to review a Public Safety Report before setting bail and limits personal bonds on certain violent charges. Proposition 3, approved by Texas voters on November 4, 2025, allows a judge to deny bail in a defined set of violent and sexual felony cases when the state meets a clear and convincing evidence standard. For the ordinary misdemeanor and non-violent felony cases that make up nearly all Roanoke arrests, bail is set in the usual way. The Texas Justice Court Training Center bail page summarizes both rules.

Affordable Bail Bonds for Roanoke Families: Payment Options

Almost no household has the full bail amount sitting available, which is exactly why surety bonds exist. On the bonds we write in Dallas and Tarrant counties, we structure the fee around what your family can actually manage.

  • Payment plans. Installment arrangements on many bonds, so release does not wait for one lump payment.
  • Low down payment options. A qualified co-signer can often begin with a smaller amount up front.
  • No credit check. We look at the charge, the defendant’s record and the co-signer, not a credit score.
  • Co-signer flexibility. Two or more family members can share responsibility for a single bond.
  • Collateral only when required. Many misdemeanor bonds need none. When it is needed, we explain what qualifies and how it is returned at the end of the case.
  • Several ways to pay. Major credit cards, American Express, Western Union, personal checks and cash in some situations, plus payment at the jail.
  • Written terms first. You see the fee and every obligation in writing before signing anything.

Our bail payment options page covers each of these in more detail.

Local Knowledge: Roanoke Courts, Districts and Rules

Roanoke’s arrests cluster in a few clear places. The Oak Street district around Byron Nelson Boulevard holds the restaurant concentration that earned the city its dining nickname and is the origin of most late-evening calls. The SH 114 and US 377 interchange and the frontage roads on either side generate the traffic stops, and the hotel and retail strip along SH 114 fills during Texas Motor Speedway race weekends, when a regional crowd passes through a city of under eleven thousand residents.

Court venue depends on the charge level and the county:

  • Class C, fine only: Roanoke Municipal Court, 203 Fairway Drive, Roanoke, TX 76262, 817-491-0813, open Monday through Thursday 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Friday 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
  • Class A and B misdemeanors and felonies, Denton County: Denton County courts in Denton, with the jail at 127 N. Woodrow Lane.
  • Any charge booked in Tarrant County: Tim Curry Criminal Justice Center, 401 W. Belknap St., Fort Worth, TX 76196.

The quirk that catches Roanoke families out has to do with Texas Motor Speedway. The speedway carries a Fort Worth mailing address, so people assume a race weekend arrest there is a Tarrant County matter, but the property sits on the Denton County side of the line and those cases are generally filed in Denton County. The mailing address and the county line do not agree, and the county line is what decides the jail. If you are calling about a speedway weekend arrest, tell us the arresting agency and we will confirm the county before anyone drives anywhere.

Response Time to Roanoke

Our office is at 633 W. Division St., Suite A, Arlington, TX 76011, directly across from the Arlington City Jail, roughly 30 to 35 minutes from Roanoke by way of SH 114 and SH 121 in normal traffic. The Tarrant County Corrections Center in downtown Fort Worth, where we post Tarrant County bonds, is about 25 miles south of Roanoke and roughly 20 minutes from our office. The Denton County Jail is about 20 miles northwest of Roanoke. Because we complete paperwork by phone, fax and email and can send a mobile agent, the drive rarely determines how fast anything moves. Drive times are approximate.

Frequently Asked Questions About Roanoke Bail Bonds

Where is someone arrested in Roanoke taken?

To the Denton County Jail at 127 N. Woodrow Lane, Denton, TX 76205. Roanoke police handle the arrest and initial paperwork at 203 Fairway Drive but do not run a long-term jail, so the arrestee is transported to Denton for magistration and holding. If a neighboring Tarrant County agency made the arrest, the destination is the Tarrant County Corrections Center in Fort Worth instead. Call us and we will confirm which one before you make the drive.

Can you post bail for a Texas Motor Speedway arrest?

It depends on the county. Texas Motor Speedway has a Fort Worth address but sits on the Denton County side of the county line, so most arrests there are filed in Denton County, where we are not licensed. If the arrest was actually booked into the Tarrant County Corrections Center, we post that bond directly under License #218. Tell us the arresting agency and we will identify the county in a few minutes.

How long does the Denton County Jail take to release someone?

There is no fixed time. Release from any county jail depends on booking volume, staffing and when the bond is accepted, and a large county facility processes more people than a city jail does. Overnight and weekend releases generally run slower than weekday ones. Anyone who promises you a specific number of hours is guessing. We will tell you what the jail is actually reporting when you call.

Is A Way Out Bail Bonds licensed in Denton County?

No. We hold Dallas County Bail Bond License #285 and Tarrant County Bail Bond License #218, and Texas licenses bail bond companies county by county. For a Denton County booking we confirm where your family member is, explain each step of that county’s process, and connect you with a licensed resource there. If any part of the case involves a Dallas or Tarrant County facility, we handle that bond ourselves.

What does a co-signer agree to?

The co-signer, or indemnitor, guarantees that the defendant appears at every court setting and accepts responsibility for the full bond amount plus recovery costs if the defendant disappears. A co-signer usually needs valid identification and a verifiable address, and more than one person can sign together to share the obligation. We go through every term before anyone signs.

Is the bail bond fee returned when the case ends?

No. In Texas the fee paid to a bail bond company is what pays for posting the bond, and it is not refundable regardless of how the case turns out. Cash bail posted directly with a county is different: it is returned at the end of the case minus court assessments, but it requires paying the entire bail amount up front, which is why most families choose a surety bond.

What if the defendant misses a court date?

The court can forfeit the bond and issue a new warrant. Contact us the same day you realize a setting was missed. In many situations the defendant can appear voluntarily and the court will reinstate the bond, and that is far easier to accomplish early than after a forfeiture judgment advances.

Do you have Spanish-speaking agents?

Yes. Se habla espanol. Our bilingual agents explain the charge, the bond agreement, the court dates and the co-signer’s responsibilities in Spanish, and paperwork can be reviewed in Spanish before anyone signs it.
