About Bail Bonds in Addison, TX
Addison is a small town with a very large nightlife footprint, and that shapes the kind of arrests families call us about. The town covers about 4.4 square miles in north Dallas County, and the 2020 census counted 16,661 residents, but the daytime population swells to more than 120,000 workers, diners and visitors. Addison promotes itself as having nearly 200 restaurants and 22 hotels, most of them clustered along Belt Line Road between the Dallas North Tollway and Midway Road. Add Addison Circle events like Kaboom Town and Oktoberfest, and the result is a steady volume of DWI, public intoxication, disorderly conduct and assault arrests on Friday and Saturday nights, plus warrant arrests from traffic stops on the Tollway, Belt Line and Inwood Road.
For a family, the practical consequence is timing. A person arrested in Addison at 1:00 a.m. on a Saturday is usually not in Addison for long, and the facility that holds them is not the one most people search for. Knowing the route from arrest to release is what lets a bondsman move quickly, and it is the first thing our agents explain when you call.
What is a bail bond?
A bail bond is a promise filed with the court by a licensed bail bond company guaranteeing that the defendant will appear at every required court date. Instead of paying the full bail amount to Dallas County, the family pays the bondsman a fee and the company posts the bond. You can read a fuller explanation on our How Bail Bonds Work page.

Which Jail Will Someone Arrested in Addison Be Taken To?
People arrested by Addison police are held at the Richardson Jail, 140 N. Greenville Ave., Richardson, TX 75081, under an interlocal agreement that took effect on October 1, 2025. The Richardson Jail phone number is 972-744-4820. Bonds for Addison arrests are filed with Dallas County, and the county’s 24-hour bond desk is at the Dallas County Jail (Lew Sterrett Justice Center), 111 W. Commerce St., Dallas, TX 75202.
This is a recent change, and many websites still describe the old arrangement. Here is the current path, according to the Town of Addison’s jail services announcement and the Richardson Police Department jail page:
- Arrest and initial processing in Addison. The Addison Police Department at 4799 Airport Parkway handles the arrest and paperwork. Addison does not operate a long-term jail of its own. From 2022 until September 2025, Addison contracted with the City of Grapevine, about 22 miles away; the town moved jail services to Richardson to cut transport time.
- Booking at the Richardson Jail. The arrestee is transported to 140 N. Greenville Ave. in Richardson, roughly six miles east of Addison, and booked in. Richardson publishes a list of current jail inmates on its website, which is the fastest way to confirm that someone is there.
- Magistration. Richardson holds arraignments once a day, generally around 11:00 a.m., though the time can shift with magistrate availability. This is where a magistrate reviews the charge, considers the Public Safety Report required by Texas law, and sets the bond amount and any conditions. Texas law requires this hearing within 48 hours of arrest.
- Bond posting with Dallas County. Once a bond amount exists, our agent posts the surety bond with the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office at 111 W. Commerce St. The Richardson Jail confirms the bond and processes the release.
- Transfer if no bond is posted. A person who is not bonded out is eventually transferred to the Dallas County Jail. Bonding out while the person is still in Richardson is usually faster and simpler for the family, which is why calling early matters.
If you are not sure where your family member is, call us first. We check the Richardson inmate list and the Dallas County inmate search so you do not have to call multiple facilities yourself.

Class C and Addison Municipal Court Matters
Fine-only Class C charges such as traffic citations and city ordinance violations are handled by the Addison Municipal Court of Record, 4799 Airport Parkway, Addison, TX 75001, phone 972-450-7111. The court is open Monday through Thursday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. The court’s warrant information page explains that a first-time appearance may be resolved with a cash bond, and a surety bond on a municipal warrant requires the judge’s approval. If you have an active Addison municipal warrant and want to clear it without being arrested, call us and we will explain the options that court allows.
Bail Bond Services We Offer in Addison
Our Addison bail bond service covers every charge level that comes through the Richardson Jail and Dallas County system. Below is a summary of each service; the linked pages go deeper.
Felony Bail Bonds in Addison
Felony charges in Dallas County are heard at the Frank Crowley Courts Building, 133 N. Riverfront Blvd., and bond amounts are set individually by the magistrate. Our agents handle felony bonds for assault, drug possession, theft and burglary, weapons charges and other cases, including bonds that require collateral or a co-signer. Learn more on our Types of Bail Bonds page.
Misdemeanor Bail Bonds in Addison
Class A and Class B misdemeanors make up most Addison arrests: public intoxication paired with a second charge, simple assault, possession of marijuana, theft under the felony threshold and criminal trespass. These cases move quickly at Richardson’s daily arraignment, and a misdemeanor bond can often be posted the same day the bond amount is set.
DWI and DUI Bail Bonds in Addison
With nearly 200 restaurants and bars concentrated along Belt Line Road, DWI is the charge Addison families call about most often. A first-offense DWI in Texas is a Class B misdemeanor, and the magistrate may add conditions such as an ignition interlock device. Our DWI and DUI bail bonds page explains what to expect after a DWI arrest and how we handle bond conditions.
Warrant Bail Bonds in Addison
A warrant arrest often happens during a routine traffic stop on the Dallas North Tollway or Belt Line Road. We handle bonds for outstanding Dallas County warrants and for warrants from other Texas counties that show up at booking, and we can often arrange a walk-through so the person surrenders and bonds out in one visit instead of being taken into custody unexpectedly.
Traffic and Class C Bonds in Addison
For Addison Municipal Court traffic warrants and other Class C matters, we explain what the court accepts and, where a surety bond is permitted, post it. See our traffic ticket bail bonds page for details.
How the Bail Process Works in Addison
From your first call to your family member walking out of the Richardson Jail, the process follows six steps.
- Call 214-760-9978. Give us the person’s full name and date of birth, where they were arrested, and the charge if you know it. We take calls 24 hours a day, including holidays.
- We confirm custody and the bond amount. We check the Richardson inmate list and Dallas County records. If the person has not yet been arraigned, we tell you when the next arraignment is expected and prepare the paperwork so nothing waits on us.
- Paperwork and co-signer. The co-signer (also called the indemnitor) signs the bond agreement, provides identification and, if needed, arranges collateral. We can complete most paperwork by phone, fax or email, and a mobile agent can meet you in Addison or Richardson.
- We post the bond. Our agent files the surety bond with the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office at 111 W. Commerce St. and notifies the Richardson Jail.
- Release processing. Richardson verifies the bond and releases the defendant. Release times vary with booking volume and the time of day; weekday releases after the 11:00 a.m. arraignment are typically the fastest, while weekend nights run slower.
- Court date follow-up. We give the defendant and the co-signer every court date and remind them before each one. Missing court is the one thing that puts the bond at risk, so we stay in touch until the case closes.
A note on Texas law: under Senate Bill 6, the Damon Allen Act, effective December 2021, magistrates must review a Public Safety Report before setting bail and may not release certain defendants on a personal bond. In November 2025, Texas voters approved Proposition 3, which allows judges to deny bail in defined violent and sexual felony cases when the state meets its burden of proof. For the large majority of Addison arrests, which are misdemeanors and non-violent felonies, bail is set in the ordinary way and a surety bond is available. You can review the requirements on the Texas Justice Court Training Center bail page.
Affordable Bail Bonds in Addison: Payment Options
Most families are not prepared for a bail bond, and the cost of the full bail amount is out of reach for almost everyone. A surety bond lets you pay the bondsman’s fee instead of the full bail, and we structure that fee to fit your situation.
- Flexible payment plans. We offer installment arrangements on many bonds so the release does not depend on paying everything at once.
- Low down payment options. Qualified co-signers can often start the release with a smaller initial payment.
- No credit check required. Approval is based on the charge, the defendant’s history and the co-signer, not a credit score.
- Co-signer and family options. More than one family member can share responsibility for the bond.
- Collateral alternatives. Many misdemeanor bonds require no collateral at all. When collateral is needed, we explain exactly what qualifies and how it is returned when the case ends.
- Multiple payment methods. We accept major credit cards, American Express, Western Union, personal checks and cash in some situations, and payment can be arranged at the jail.
- No hidden fees. You receive a written agreement that shows the fee and every term before you sign.
Our bail payment options page covers each of these in more detail. If money is the reason you have not called yet, call anyway. Talking through the options is free.

Local Knowledge: Addison Courts, Districts and Rules
Addison is compact, and most arrests happen in a handful of places. The Belt Line Road corridor between the Dallas North Tollway and Midway Road holds the highest concentration of restaurants and bars in the town and is where Addison police concentrate DWI enforcement. Addison Circle, the mixed-use district around Addison Circle Park, hosts Kaboom Town on the Fourth of July weekend, Oktoberfest in September and Taste Addison in the spring; each brings tens of thousands of visitors and a predictable rise in public intoxication and disorderly conduct arrests. Vitruvian Park along Vitruvian Way and the Addison Airport corridor on the west side generate fewer arrests but more traffic-stop warrant cases.
Court matters for Addison arrests split by charge level:
- Class C (fine-only): Addison Municipal Court of Record, 4799 Airport Parkway, Addison, TX 75001, 972-450-7111. Hours are Monday through Thursday 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Friday 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
- Class A and B misdemeanors: Dallas County Criminal Courts at the Frank Crowley Courts Building, 133 N. Riverfront Blvd., Dallas, TX 75207.
- Felonies: Dallas County Criminal District Courts, also at the Frank Crowley Courts Building.
One rule that surprises Addison families: a person arrested by Addison police is technically in the custody of the City of Richardson while at 140 N. Greenville, but the case belongs to Dallas County. Questions about the charge or the bond amount go to Dallas County; questions about visiting or property go to the Richardson Jail at 972-744-4820. We handle both calls for you.

Response Time to Addison
Our office is at 633 W. Division St., Suite A, Arlington, TX 76011, but bond posting for Addison arrests happens at the Dallas County bond desk in downtown Dallas, about a 25-minute drive from Arlington in normal traffic. The Richardson Jail is about 20 miles from downtown Dallas via US-75. Because our agents work the Dallas County bond desk daily and we can complete paperwork by phone, fax or email, distance from Addison rarely affects how quickly a bond is posted. If you prefer to meet in person, a mobile agent can come to you in Addison or Richardson. Drive times are approximate and depend on traffic.
Frequently Asked Questions About Addison Bail Bonds
Where is someone taken after an arrest in Addison?
Since October 1, 2025, people arrested by Addison police are booked into the Richardson Jail at 140 N. Greenville Ave., Richardson, TX 75081 (972-744-4820). Addison does not run its own long-term jail. Before October 2025 Addison used the Grapevine jail, so older websites may list the wrong facility. Call us and we will confirm where your family member is being held.
How long does release take for an Addison arrest?
Most Addison arrestees are arraigned at Richardson’s daily arraignment, generally around 11:00 a.m. Once the bond amount is set and we post the bond with Dallas County, release from Richardson usually follows within a few hours, depending on booking volume. Weekend arrests often wait for the next arraignment. Calling as soon as you learn of the arrest lets us have paperwork ready the moment a bond amount exists.
Can you post a bond for a DWI arrest on Belt Line Road in Addison?
Yes. DWI is the most common charge we handle for Addison. A first DWI is a Class B misdemeanor in Texas, and the magistrate may set conditions such as an ignition interlock device. We post the bond with Dallas County and explain any conditions to the defendant and co-signer before release.
What is a co-signer responsible for?
The co-signer, or indemnitor, guarantees that the defendant will appear at every court date. If the defendant misses court and cannot be located, the co-signer is responsible for the full bond amount and any recovery costs. We keep co-signers informed of every court date to prevent that from happening.
Is the bail bond fee refundable?
No. The fee paid to a bail bond company is the charge for posting the bond and is not returned when the case ends, regardless of the outcome. If a family pays the full cash bail directly to Dallas County instead, that money is refunded at the end of the case less any fees the court assesses, but that requires paying the entire bail amount up front.
What happens if the defendant misses a court date?
The judge can forfeit the bond and issue a warrant. If that happens, contact us immediately. In many cases we can help the defendant appear voluntarily and ask the court to reinstate the bond before the situation gets worse.
Can bail be denied for an Addison arrest?
For most misdemeanor and non-violent felony charges, no. Under Proposition 3, approved by Texas voters in November 2025, judges may deny bail in specific violent and sexual felony cases when the state presents clear and convincing evidence. Those cases are a small fraction of Addison arrests. If bail is denied, the defendant’s attorney can request a bail hearing.
Do you have Spanish-speaking agents for Addison?
Yes. Se habla espanol. Our bilingual agents explain the bond agreement, the court dates and the co-signer’s responsibilities in Spanish, and all paperwork can be reviewed in Spanish before signing.
